About the role
Visa is seeking a Business Development Leader to drive the acceptance of a new mobile payment solution across South and Southern markets. The role will focus on building profitable merchant relationships, expanding Visa’s market share, and increasing electronic payment volume.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute merchant acceptance, relations and partner strategies to grow Visa’s merchant sales volume and market share.
- Collaborate with the Head of Merchant Sales and Acquiring and regional country managers on industry, regulatory and interchange initiatives.
- Lead negotiations of large strategic partnerships with key merchants and third‑party partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with client banks, top‑tier merchants and third‑party partners.
- Conduct quarterly business reviews with key merchants to ensure Visa delivers value.
- Communicate local market needs to global teams to shape market‑specific strategies.
Required profile
- Proven senior‑level experience in merchant sales, payments or related business development.
- Deep understanding of electronic payment ecosystems and merchant acquiring.
- Strong track record of negotiating and managing strategic partnerships.
- Excellent stakeholder management and ability to influence across regions.
