Business Development Manager – Mining Software for Africa

About the role

You will lead the commercial expansion of a comprehensive mining‑software and instrumentation portfolio across the African continent. The role focuses on selling high‑value, integrated solutions that combine advanced digital applications with precision hardware to mining, quarrying, drill‑and‑blast contractors and heavy civil works projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and engage new prospects across Africa, including large mines, regional quarries and civil works contractors.
  • Build and manage a conversion‑driven sales pipeline, translating field‑level needs into qualified opportunities.
  • Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations of the full software‑hardware ecosystem to site engineers and corporate decision‑makers.
  • Prepare tailored commercial proposals, negotiate terms and secure signed contracts.
  • Develop, train and support regional partners, distributors and subsidiaries to amplify sales reach.
  • Maintain rigorous CRM reporting and provide market feedback to product and operations teams.

Required profile

  • 3–7 years of proven B2B technical sales experience.
  • Strong knowledge of at least one sector: mining, quarrying, explosives/drill‑and‑blast, or heavy civil works.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell complex integrated technology solutions.
  • Fluent English; professional French is strongly recommended.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across Africa and occasionally to Europe.

Required skills

  • Understanding of digital blast design and planning software.
  • Familiarity with high‑precision measurement tools such as borehole deviation probes.
  • Experience with ore quality management and fragmentation analysis solutions.
