Programme Management Support Internship

About the role

The Programme Management Support Internship is based in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, within the Secretariat of the Abidjan Convention. The intern will assist the Head of the Secretariat in coordinating regional environmental programmes focused on marine and coastal ecosystems, pollution prevention, and the sustainable blue economy.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in supervising and coordinating the implementation of programme activities.
• Conduct desk research and analyse relevant data and reports.
• Support the organization of internal and external meetings, webinars, side events and expert group sessions.
• Develop, implement and evaluate assigned projects in collaboration with national executing entities.
• Monitor programme progress, identify issues and propose corrective actions.
• Review documents and reports, liaise with partners for follow‑up actions.

Required profile

• Current university student or recent graduate in environmental studies, marine science, international relations or a related field.
• Strong interest in marine and coastal ecosystem management and regional environmental cooperation.
• Excellent research, analytical and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team.
