About the role
Optasia is seeking a visionary senior leader to act as Commercial Director and General Manager for its West Africa region. The role combines strategic commercial leadership with full accountability for regional operations, financial performance, and people management, driving growth of its fintech platform across telecom and mobile financial services markets.
Key responsibilities
- Define and execute the commercial strategy for the assigned portfolio and region, aligning with Optasia’s global objectives.
- Serve as General Manager, overseeing revenue generation, cost optimisation, compliance and operational delivery.
- Prepare accurate forecasts, financial projections and manage the annual budget for both the portfolio and regional operations.
- Identify and prioritise growth opportunities, driving adoption of Optasia’s scoring, decisioning, disbursement and collection solutions.
- Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing team of regional and account managers, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.
- Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with customers, negotiate high‑value contracts and strategic partnerships.
- Represent Optasia at industry events to enhance brand visibility and strengthen market presence.
Required profile
- Proven experience in customer relationship management within telecom or mobile financial services.
- Track record of building and leading high‑performing commercial teams.
- Strategic thinker with strong leadership and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to drive revenue growth through innovation, operational excellence and long‑term partnerships.
