Technical Services Superintendent – Underground Mining

About the role

The Technical Services Superintendent will lead the Underground Technical Services function at the Yaouré Gold Mine, providing technical oversight, strategic direction and leadership to ensure safe, efficient and value‑driven underground mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Underground Technical Services team, including mine engineering, geotechnical and survey functions.
• Oversee weekly, monthly and long‑term mine planning and scheduling activities.
• Drive mine design optimisation and identify opportunities to unlock project value.
• Monitor compliance with mine plans, manage critical path activities and ensure adherence to standards.
• Establish and maintain technical services standards, systems and best practices.
• Build capability within the national workforce through coaching, mentoring and professional development.
• Foster collaboration between Perseus and underground mining contractor teams.
• Promote a strong safety culture through risk management, incident investigation and process improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in underground hard‑rock environments.
• Proven experience leading mine planning, design and scheduling functions.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot underground operational challenges.
• Commitment to safety leadership, continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Deswik and other underground mine planning systems.
• Experience with longhole open stoping operations.
• Familiarity with Pronto or similar mining business systems.
