HR Specialist – West Africa

About the role

We are looking for an HR Specialist to support our teams in Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire. Based in Abidjan, you will translate global HR practices into locally relevant actions and ensure people processes align with our mission of a fair, transparent cocoa supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with country managers and people managers on recruitment, onboarding, performance management, wellbeing, employee relations and off‑boarding.
• Serve as the first point of contact for employee HR queries, providing clear guidance.
• Adapt and implement global HR policies, learning initiatives and growth processes for the local context.
• Coordinate payroll and people‑operations activities, ensuring accurate data, reporting and compliance.
• Manage employee engagement surveys, support follow‑up actions and contribute to team‑development activities.
• Collaborate with the wider People & Culture team and external stakeholders to continuously improve HR processes.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in an HR or employee‑related role within an international or scaling environment.
• Fluent verbal and written communication in French and English, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
• Strong planning and prioritisation skills, capable of handling multiple topics in a dynamic setting.
• High level of care and responsibility when handling employee data and sensitive information.
• Proven ability to build effective relationships across cultures and functions.
• Willingness to travel to Accra and other regional sites as needed.
