Network Support Technician – On‑Demand Cisco AP Troubleshooting

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Network Support Technician to perform on‑site troubleshooting of a Cisco wireless access point that is experiencing connectivity issues. The assignment is on‑demand and requires work at approximately 5 meters height, coordination with remote support, and thorough documentation of the outcome.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve connectivity problems on Cisco CW9164I‑MR access point (ABI1‑O‑LAN‑WAP01).
• Verify link between the access point and the network switch.
• Conduct structured cabling diagnostics and layer‑1 troubleshooting.
• Test patch cables, I/O ports, horizontal cabling, and AP connectivity.
• Replace any faulty cables or components as needed.
• Trace existing cabling from the patch panel to the access point.
• Perform cable testing and validate connectivity after remediation.
• Coordinate with remote/back‑line support teams throughout the troubleshooting process.
• Provide status updates and closure notes upon completion.

Required profile

• Proven experience in structured cabling and network troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Cisco wireless access points and switch connectivity.
• Ability to work safely at height and use ladder equipment.
• Strong reporting and communication skills.
• Capability to collaborate with remote support teams.
