Associate Banker, SME Finance & Development

About the role

The Associate Banker supports the full project cycle for SME finance initiatives, from origination through structuring, execution, and post‑signing monitoring. Working within the EBRD’s SME Finance & Development (F&D) Group, the role focuses on delivering specialised financing solutions and advisory services to small and medium‑sized enterprises.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to project structuring and execution, collaborating with client counterparts, consultants and other stakeholders.
• Lead comprehensive due‑diligence covering financial, market, integrity and EBRD policy compliance.
• Prepare internal project documentation such as memoranda, financial models, term sheets and presentations.
• Design and process technical co‑operation assistance, aligning with investment approval schedules.
• Ensure timely completion of tasks in line with Bank policies and objectives.
• Monitor portfolio performance, create value, and produce regular reporting.

Required profile

• University degree in finance, economics, business or a related field.
• Experience in SME finance, project structuring or banking operations.
• Strong analytical abilities and familiarity with financial analysis concepts.
• Knowledge of EBRD policies and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
