Regional Regulatory Affairs & Compliance Specialist

About the role

Optasia is a fintech platform focused on financial inclusion. The Regional Regulatory Affairs & Compliance Specialist will act as the first line of defense, helping the company navigate regulatory changes and maintain a strong compliance culture across the assigned region.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact with regional regulators to anticipate and mitigate the impact of new regulations, reporting obligations, and prudential guidelines.
• Lead horizon‑scanning activities to identify upcoming regulatory changes and disseminate alerts to relevant internal teams.
• Support the Head of Regulatory Affairs & Compliance and Regional Compliance Managers in strategy execution and regulatory risk assessments.
• Monitor ongoing compliance with laws and guidelines, and conduct structured assessments of regulatory risk exposure.
• Help implement a robust compliance governance framework, including training, awareness programs, and internal communications.
• Develop marketing materials, training programs, and presentations that align with regulatory requirements.
• Perform general administrative duties such as gathering internal information for regulatory responses.
