Education Officer – Fixed Term (Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire)

About the role

The Education Officer will support UNICEF’s education programmes in Côte d’Ivoire, contributing to the design, planning and delivery of interventions that promote equitable, inclusive and quality learning for all children. Reporting to the Chief Education, the role combines technical, operational and administrative responsibilities across the country programme cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance for the development and implementation of education projects, ensuring alignment with UNICEF’s equity strategy.
• Support programme preparation, including needs assessments, work planning, budgeting and monitoring frameworks.
• Coordinate with government partners, NGOs and other stakeholders to facilitate project delivery and knowledge sharing.
• Prepare reports, briefs and advocacy materials that document progress, challenges and impact.
• Contribute to the development of policies, guidelines and best‑practice tools for the education sector.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in Education, Social Sciences, International Development or a related field.
• Experience working on education programmes in low‑resource or humanitarian contexts.
• Strong understanding of equity, inclusion and child rights principles.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
