Environmental Health & Safety Specialist

About the role

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist I will act as a subject‑matter expert ensuring compliance with environmental, health, safety and process safety regulations. You will partner with production teams, site leadership and global EHS functions to embed safe, compliant operational practices across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Build partnerships with production workers, site and business leaders, and EHS functional heads.
• Interpret and execute environmental, health and safety work processes, activities and controls.
• Review environmental operating, construction and other permits, identify compliance requirements and drive the compliance demonstration program.
• Localize company and legal processes, integrate them into site‑level procedures, tools and work instructions.
• Conduct record‑keeping, analysis and reporting; identify improvement and risk‑mitigation opportunities.
• Support preparation for internal audits, governmental inspections and customer visits, and compile required data and reports.
• Assist in determining training content, performing gap assessments and delivering site‑specific training.
• Handle routine issues under supervision and escalate complex matters as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Additional minimum qualifications may apply.
• Ability to relate technical knowledge to job‑related duties.
• Demonstrated problem‑solving capability.
