Country Technical Senior Specialist – Conflict (Côte d’Ivoire)

About the role

The FEWS NET Country Technical Senior Specialist – Conflict will lead the collection, analysis and dissemination of food‑security and conflict‑related data for Côte d’Ivoire. Working within Chemonics’ Decision Support Team, the specialist supports U.S. Government policy and humanitarian programming by providing timely, evidence‑based early‑warning products.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and assess conflict dynamics, weather, agro‑climatic conditions, market trends and nutrition indicators that affect food security in Côte d’Ivoire.
• Produce regular Food Security Outlooks, emergency alerts, market updates and targeted analytical reports.
• Coordinate joint monitoring and assessments with international, regional and national partners, including data sharing and collaborative analysis.
• Maintain virtual and physical field presence, ensuring data quality and timely reporting to the FEWS NET Decision Support Team.
• Support the development and strengthening of local and regional food‑security networks.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in agriculture, economics, geography, conflict studies or a related field.
• Significant experience (5+ years) in food‑security monitoring, conflict analysis or humanitarian early‑warning systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work in multi‑disciplinary teams and with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English; French proficiency is an asset.
