Senior Finance Associate

About the role

The Senior Finance Associate will support UNICEF’s financial operations in Côte d’Ivoire, ensuring compliance with internal rules and external regulations. Working closely with transactional teams, the role combines technical oversight with the ability to research and improve finance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide oversight and technical guidance to transactional finance teams.
• Ensure consistent application of UNICEF financial standards, policies, and best practices.
• Research, analyse, and propose solutions for irregular or complex financial cases.
• Recommend and support improvements to finance process design and delivery.
• Prepare and review financial reports and documentation for accuracy and timeliness.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in financial management within an international or development context.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently at a G‑7 level while collaborating with diverse teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of UNICEF financial rules and regulations.
• Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting financial transactions.
• Capability to evaluate irregular financial cases and suggest corrective actions.
• Experience with process improvement in finance functions.
