Lead Auditor – Rainforest Alliance Certification

About the role

The Rainforest Alliance is seeking a Lead Auditor to perform on‑site audits of farms and supply‑chain entities across Cameroon. The role involves planning, travelling to client sites, conducting audits according to the Rainforest Alliance scheme and SCS protocol, and delivering accurate audit reports.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and confirm audit dates with clients and prepare audit plans following Rainforest Alliance protocols.
• Arrange travel, accommodation and submit expense reports in line with company policy.
• Conduct audits using the approved checklists, forms and tools, maintaining high quality and code‑of‑conduct standards.
• Maintain positive client relationships, respond to inquiries and ensure timely submission of complete audit reports.
• Keep thorough client records and attend required training to retain audit qualifications.

Required profile

• University degree in agronomy, food systems or agroforestry.
• Rainforest Alliance Sustainable Agriculture Standard Farm and/or Supply Chain e‑course certificate.
• Minimum of 10 lead environmental or social audits in the past four years (e.g., RA, UTZ, Fair Trade, RSPO).
• Willingness to travel up to 75 % of the time, primarily overnight within Cameroon.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook and database systems.
• Quality‑management training on ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and ISO 22000.
• Lead auditor training on ISO 19011.
• Social‑audit training (e.g., SA8000, SMETA).
