People Programs Manager

About the role

Wave is looking for a People Programs Manager to own and scale its Cross‑Departmental Rotation, Undergraduate Internship, and Short‑Term/Long‑Term Assignment programmes across multiple African markets. The role will operate independently, improving the employee experience without direct authority over all stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, manage and continuously improve the end‑to‑end Rotation Programme, including role canvassing, applications, onboarding, monthly check‑ins, evaluations and outcome tracking across current and new markets.
• Own the Undergraduate Internship Programme from department liaison and hiring through onboarding, guardian management and off‑boarding, ensuring a structured and immersive experience.
• Coordinate Short‑Term and Long‑Term Assignment deployments, handling offer alignment, benefits, logistics, check‑ins and policy consistency across markets.
• Maintain program guidelines, document processes, identify expansion opportunities and run design review sessions with stakeholders.
• Partner with People Partners, Employer Branding and Talent teams to amplify programmes and address policy gaps early.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in HR, project management, recruiting or a closely related field.
• Proven track record of independently owning and improving complex programmes or portfolios.
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to engage senior leadership and navigate cultural dynamics across teams.
• Clear, direct communicator with excellent written and verbal English and French proficiency.
• Highly organized, able to close loops, manage ambiguity and make judgment calls on evolving programmes.
• Based in one of Wave’s operating markets.
