Adolescent & HIV/AIDS Specialist – UNICEF, Abidjan

About the role

The Adolescent & HIV/AIDS Specialist will support UNICEF’s efforts to integrate adolescent development, participation, and child rights into advocacy, programmes, and humanitarian actions in Côte d'Ivoire. Reporting to the Chief Youth and Adolescents Development (P4), the specialist will work closely with country office staff, partners, and stakeholders to ensure technical, administrative, and operational alignment with UNICEF’s strategic plans.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on adolescent health and HIV/AIDS programming across UNICEF’s initiatives.
• Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of results‑based management (RBM) approaches for adolescent development projects.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners to embed child rights and equity principles into all relevant activities.
• Contribute to the preparation of advocacy materials, policy briefs, and programme reports.
• Assist in capacity‑building efforts for country office colleagues and partners.

Required profile

• Relevant advanced degree in public health, social sciences, or a related field.
• Experience working on adolescent development, HIV/AIDS, or child rights programmes, preferably in a humanitarian or development context.
• Strong understanding of UNICEF’s strategic frameworks, RBM methodology, and international child rights conventions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
