Associate Manager, Trade Marketing – West Africa

About the role

BIC World is looking for an Associate Manager, Trade Marketing to support the growth of its Stationery, Lighter & Shaver categories across West Africa. You will work closely with the Line Manager, channel managers and local partners to design, implement and analyse trade promotions that drive sales and market share.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute annual Trade Marketing plans for the assigned categories, ensuring alignment with budget and growth targets.
• Design tailored trade promotions for key customers based on shopper profiling and coordinate execution with Africa Category Management.
• Act as liaison between BIC and local stakeholders (partners, suppliers, sub‑distributors, key accounts, wholesalers) to ensure proper implementation of initiatives.
• Manage external agencies for the creation and rollout of trade marketing initiatives.
• Analyse market, category and competitor data to identify trends, issues and growth opportunities.
• Monitor trade marketing budgets, evaluate research and market conditions, and adjust plans accordingly.
• Prepare flash reports and communicate results on internal and external portals.
• Train sales teams and customers on trade marketing concepts when needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in trade marketing, preferably within fast‑moving consumer goods.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and translate insights into actionable plans.
• Excellent coordination skills to work with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
• Results‑oriented attitude with a focus on meeting deadlines and achieving ROI.
