Associate Manager, Trade Marketing – West Africa

About the role

The Associate Manager, Trade Marketing will support BIC World’s growth in West Africa by executing annual trade marketing plans for the Stationery, Lighter and Shaver categories. You will work closely with category management, line managers and channel partners to design and launch promotions that drive sales and market share.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up the yearly promotional calendar and sales initiatives to improve in‑store fundamentals.
• Design tailored trade promotions for key customers based on shopper profiling and loyalty programmes.
• Develop category captainship in fast‑growing MMM channels in coordination with line and channel managers.
• Recommend and implement consistent Annual Trade Marketing Plans to achieve growth and profit targets.
• Manage implementation of trade marketing activities via Initiative Master Plans, ensuring budget adherence.
• Act as liaison between BIC and local stakeholders (partners, suppliers, sub‑distributors, key accounts, wholesalers).
• Coordinate with external agencies for creation and execution of initiatives.
• Develop and analyse market, category and competitor reports to identify trends and opportunities.
• Monitor trade marketing budgets and evaluate the ROI of initiatives.
• Support line manager with flash reports and train sales teams when needed.

Required profile

• Experience in trade marketing, category management or FMCG sales.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret market data.
• Project‑management skills to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to work autonomously and deliver results within set timelines.
