About the role
We're hiring a French-English bilingual Legal Assistant with asylum case experience to support a U.S. immigration law firm serving French-speaking clients. You'll be the voice clients hear first, so language precision and asylum know-how matter more than anything else here.
Key responsibilities
- Interpret live between French‑speaking clients and English‑speaking attorneys.
- Support asylum applications and declarations.
- Translate documents and correspondence.
- Run client intake calls.
- Keep case files and filing deadlines organized.
Required profile
- Hands‑on experience with asylum cases (applications, declarations, refugee or humanitarian claims, NGO or legal‑aid work).
- Native or fluent French speaker with strong professional spoken English; able to interpret in real time both ways.
- Service‑oriented background such as customer service, call centre, BPO, front desk, hospitality or administrative support.
- Organized, proactive, and comfortable working U.S. business hours.
- Reliable internet, a quiet workspace, and a personal computer.
