Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager will support the Programme Development and Quality Director and the Head of Business Development in growing Save the Children Côte d'Ivoire’s funding and partnerships. The role operationalises the country funding strategy, ensures high‑quality proposal development, and strengthens localisation by building capacity of internal teams and national partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement Country Funding Strategies and Donor Engagement Plans aligned with the Country Strategic Plan.
• Engage strategically with institutional, corporate, foundation and other donors to secure programme funding and influence policy.
• Lead capture planning, donor intelligence gathering, and go/no‑go decisions for funding opportunities.
• Coordinate proposal and concept note development, ensuring alignment with programme plans, budgets and MEAL frameworks.
• Drive localisation by supporting internal teams and local NGOs in business development and resource mobilisation.

Required profile

• 5‑7+ years of experience securing funding from DAC government donors, multilateral agencies, corporate donors or foundations.
• Background in business development, donor relationship management, strategic portfolio analysis and change management.
• Proven ability to lead funding landscape assessments and develop funding strategies.
• Strong networking and interpersonal skills with the ability to build productive relationships with external donor agencies.
