Country HR Manager

About the role

SGS is seeking a senior HR professional to lead the human resources function for a country operation of approximately 700 employees. The role reports directly to the Leadership Team and is responsible for shaping HR strategy, ensuring compliance, and driving talent initiatives across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Partner closely with the Leadership Team to align HR initiatives with business objectives.
• Lead all HR activities for a workforce of 700 employees, supervising a team of three HR professionals.
• Oversee end‑to‑end recruitment processes to attract top‑tier talent.
• Design and implement salary structures in line with local practices and SGS guidelines.
• Manage corporate remuneration processes, including the Annual Salary Review and Annual Incentive Process.
• Collaborate with employee unions and representatives to ensure effective dialogue, compliance, and alignment with business priorities.
• Develop and execute a Training & Development strategy in partnership with regional teams, monitoring its impact on retention, productivity, and cultural alignment.
• Drive succession planning to ensure leadership continuity at all levels.
• Ensure timely and high‑quality execution of the Performance Management process.
• Implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with SGS Group standards and local legislation.

Required profile

• Degree in Law is a strong advantage.
• Proven track record of leading an HR function of comparable scope and complexity.
• Deep knowledge of labor legislation and social relations.
• Experience working with employee unions, representatives, or similar bodies in a complex operational environment.
• Background in multinational environments.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
