Field Engineering Program – Controls (Entry Level)

About the role

Join GE Vernova’s FieldCore team as a participant in the Field Engineering Program (FEP) focused on controls. This entry‑level position provides intensive training—both classroom and on‑the‑job—and prepares you for a Technical Field Advisor (TFA) role supporting industrial gas and steam turbine installations worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate on‑site activities for power generation equipment.
• Perform installation, preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration of rotating equipment.
• Respond to emergency service requests and troubleshoot problematic assets.
• Provide technical instruction to customer representatives on operation, calibration, and maintenance.
• Prepare technical reports, order materials, and handle related administrative tasks.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or early‑career professional enrolled in the Field Engineering Program.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work on customer sites in various regions, including Angola and Ivory Coast.
• Commitment to safety, environmental policies, and EHS standards.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to learn lean thinking and leadership skills.

Required skills

• Interpretation of electrical and mechanical flow and instrument diagrams.
• Dial and laser alignment techniques.
• Thermal growth measurement equipment usage.
• Installation, maintenance, and calibration of gas/steam turbine rotating equipment.
• Technical reporting and documentation.
