Field Representative Development Program 2027

About the role

Caterpillar's Field Representative Development Program is a 1 to 2 year full-time (40 hours per week, onsite five days a week) training and rotation program based in Abidjan, starting on 1 February 2027. It gives hands-on experience and world-class training in how Caterpillar partners with its Cat Dealers to serve customers worldwide, followed by field-based roles supporting dealers and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Training phase (first 3 months): learn Caterpillar products, services and industry strategies, build communication and leadership skills, connect with a global network of peers and mentors, and visit dealers across the EAME and Central Asia region.
• Rotational assignments (12-18 months): gain a broad technical and commercial skillset, work on strategic projects and prepare for a customer-facing field role.
• Graduate into one of four roles: Product Support Operations, Marketing and Sales Operations, Sales Representative or Technical Representative, each working with dealers to improve operations, sales performance, customer experience and product support.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Marketing, Business, Operations Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to travel up to 30-70% depending on assignments, and willingness to live abroad for up to 3 months for training or rotation.
• Fluent in English and French, with a valid passport through May 2027.
• Plus: experience supporting or leading small projects, commercial mindset, and an understanding of the construction equipment industry.
