Group Legal Manager

About the role

The Group Legal Manager will lead corporate governance, English‑law contracting and legal risk management for Mansa Resources across its West African operations and Liberian entities. Reporting to the Vice President Legal, this senior position provides high‑level legal support to operational teams and ensures alignment with Group standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead legal review of major and complex commercial contracts and maintain Group contract standards, templates and negotiation tools.
• Provide legal oversight for mining, energy, infrastructure and services contracts, managing risk classification and Delegation of Authority compliance.
• Act as primary legal owner for the Group’s Liberian entities, supporting regulatory, commercial and corporate matters and coordinating local counsel.
• Support M&A, joint ventures, restructurings, disposals and financing transactions, and contribute to IP‑related matters.
• Manage disputes, litigation and arbitration, coordinating strategy with external counsel and internal teams.
• Oversee legal systems, reporting and contract lifecycle tools, driving efficiency through standardisation and governance.
• Manage external legal advisers, ensuring alignment with Group strategy and cost‑effectiveness.
• Support integration of new assets and entities into governance frameworks and work with the Company Secretary on governance initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years post‑qualification experience.
• Qualified solicitor or barrister in England & Wales.
• Experience at partner level in an international law firm or an equivalent senior legal role.
• Significant exposure to Africa‑focused projects, particularly in mining or related sectors.
