HSE Country Manager

About the role

The HSE Country Manager will lead the implementation of BIABIA Group’s health, safety and environment policy across Ivory Coast. This senior position is responsible for fostering a strong safety culture, ensuring legal compliance and driving continuous improvement of the HSE management system.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments, establish control measures and audit hazards regularly.
• Ensure compliance with national HSE legislation and keep all required registers up‑to‑date.
• Develop and deliver the HSE training matrix, including inductions and ongoing courses.
• Maintain and improve the ISO‑based HSE management system (ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Oversee job hazard analyses, standard operating procedures and safe work practices.
• Lead incident reporting, investigations, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Prepare weekly KPI reports for the Regional HSE Manager and manage emergency response plans and drills.
• Control the use and inventory of personal protective equipment and ensure security procedures are followed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent experience.
• 7‑10 years of HSE experience, preferably in the mining or heavy‑equipment sector.
• Fluent in English and French.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.
• Working knowledge of SAP (preferred).
• Strong understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
