Investment Officer – Climate Finance (Africa Regional Office)

About the role

The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is seeking an Investment Officer to lead climate‑finance delivery under the LIFT Programme for its Africa Regional Office. Based in Abidjan, the officer will develop bankable investment concepts and support green‑lending initiatives with financial institutions across multiple African countries.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare high‑quality, investment‑ready Concept Notes for multilateral climate funds and other donors.
• Design, operationalise and monitor green‑lending portfolios with partner banks and financial institutions.
• Provide technical coordination for multi‑country investment pipelines, ensuring alignment with national priorities.
• Engage with accredited entities, government counterparts, consultants and development partners to secure climate‑finance.
• Contribute to programme functions such as stakeholder engagement, procurement inputs, reporting and knowledge management.
• Liaise regularly with GGGI headquarters, regional and country offices, Green Investment Services and other internal units to ensure coherence.

Required profile

• Proven experience in climate finance, green investment or related fields.
• Strong understanding of multilateral climate funds, green‑lending frameworks and financial product structuring.
• Ability to work across several countries and coordinate with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with a focus on delivering practical financing solutions.
