Key Account Manager – West Africa

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Key Account Manager to drive growth for a multinational medical consumables company across West Africa. The role will manage strategic distributor partnerships, expand market presence, and ensure strong execution in public health, hospitals, and pharmacies.

Key responsibilities

• Own and develop top‑tier distributor accounts across West Africa, building long‑term strategic partnerships.
• Lead joint business planning, segment accounts, and drive revenue and market share for the portfolio.
• Identify and onboard new distributors in white‑space markets and penetrate key channels such as public tenders, hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies.
• Coordinate tender participation, pricing strategy, and compliance with distributors and institutional stakeholders.
• Define and monitor KPIs, conduct business reviews, and build distributor capabilities in sales, demand planning, and reporting.
• Lead accurate forecasting, manage inventory, and align with supply‑chain teams to avoid stock‑outs.
• Manage full commercial P&L, optimise pricing, protect margins, and monitor receivables.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, support product registration, and uphold ethical standards.
• Act as Africa’s internal voice, collaborating with marketing, supply chain, and regulatory functions.

Required profile

• Senior commercial professional with proven experience in key account management within African healthcare markets.
• Deep understanding of African healthcare systems, tender processes, and distributor‑led business models.
• Fluent in English and French to cover both Anglophone and Francophone markets.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently across multiple countries in the region.
