Legal Content Specialist – Privacy & Data Protection

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Content Specialist to create authoritative privacy and data‑protection content for our customers. The ideal candidate holds an LLB, has at least two years of relevant experience, and can translate complex regulations into clear, business‑focused language.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor global privacy and data‑protection developments (GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, etc.) and flag relevant changes for CookieYes and its clients.
• Write long‑form regulatory explainers, jurisdiction guides, compliance checklists, update posts and whitepapers.
• Review marketing and product content for legal accuracy, ensuring compliance claims are vetted before release.
• Structure content for AI search, generative‑engine optimisation and schema markup in collaboration with SEO teams.
• Translate regulatory obligations into product requirements and work with engineering on consent, records and disclosures.
• Support sales and support teams with compliance queries and build internal reference material.
• Maintain internal legal documents (privacy policy, terms of service, DPAs) with external counsel as needed.
• Represent CookieYes publicly through articles, webinars and industry commentary.

Required profile

• LLB or equivalent law degree from a recognised institution; bar enrolment welcome but not required.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a law firm, in‑house legal team, compliance function or legal publishing role.
• Demonstrated ability to write for non‑lawyer audiences; provide samples such as blogs or newsletters.
• Strong research discipline: cite primary sources, verify citations and avoid reliance on superseded guidance.
• Understanding of major global privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, DPA, PDPA, etc.).
• Sound judgement on the line between legal explanation and legal advice.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AI research and drafting tools.
• Experience with SEO and content optimisation for search engines.
