Mining Production Manager - Open Pit Gold Mine

About the role

A leading international engineering and contract mining group is looking for an experienced Mining Production Manager for its open pit gold mining operations in Côte d'Ivoire. The manager oversees all mining production activities, ensures the safe, efficient and cost-effective execution of the mine plan and the achievement of production targets, and leads the mining production teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and optimize mining production activities, coordinating resources and equipment
• Monitor operational performance and oversee drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, dumping and related activities
• Maximize productivity, equipment utilization and operational efficiency
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality, environmental compliance and cost control
• Work closely with Mine Planning, Geology, Grade Control, Maintenance, SHEQ, Supply Chain and other support functions
• Identify operational bottlenecks, implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement

Required profile

• Higher education in Mining Engineering or a related discipline
• At least 5 years of professional experience in mining production, preferably in open pit mining
• Proven experience managing mining production operations and production teams, contractors and service providers
• Fluency in English (mandatory); French preferred
• Experience in multicultural and remote mining environments is an advantage

Required skills

• Open-pit mining methods, production planning, mine sequencing, fleet management and operational optimization
• Monitoring of production volumes, productivity, equipment utilization, cycle times, fuel consumption and production costs
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and mining production management and reporting systems
• Analytical, problem-solving, planning and decision-making skills
• Strong leadership and people management skills
