Pharmacy Channel Lead – Drive Pharmacy Strategy and Sales

About the role

Our client, a Global Consumer Health Leader, is looking for an experienced Pharmacy Channel Lead to shape and execute the pharmacy channel strategy in Ivory Coast. Based in Abidjan, you will lead a pharmacy sales team, boost in‑store visibility, and ensure commercial initiatives deliver strong performance across the pharmacy network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and mentor the pharmacy sales team, delivering regular training on product knowledge and merchandising best practices.
• Develop and implement pharmacy channel strategies aligned with business objectives, identifying priority pharmacy partners for shelf‑rental and merchandising programs.
• Negotiate and manage shelf‑rental agreements, ensuring compliance and optimal ROI.
• Monitor in‑store visibility, execution quality and promotional activities, providing performance reports with actionable insights.
• Build strong relationships with pharmacy chains, distributors and key decision‑makers, serving as the primary point of contact for all pharmacy‑related initiatives.
• Execute omnichannel marketing activities (face‑to‑face, remote calls, email/WhatsApp, digital platforms) to increase pharmacist recommendations and product placement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business or related field (MBA or Pharmacist qualification preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales or channel management.
• Proven leadership experience with a track record of coaching and developing teams.
• Strong planning, organizational and follow‑up capabilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
