Reliability Manager – Mechanical & Electrical

About the role

The Reliability Manager will lead the reliability function for a power plant in Côte d’Ivoire, ensuring asset availability, safety and operational efficiency. Reporting to the VP Operations, the role combines leadership, technical expertise and strategic risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Reliability Team, providing operational leadership and safety oversight.
• Develop and execute planned maintenance programs using CMMS tools.
• Establish safety, environmental and compliance procedures for the plant.
• Identify and implement process improvements, energy‑efficiency measures and cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Support budgeting, cost control and expenditure forecasting for plant operations.
• Prepare regular performance, safety and compliance reports for senior management.
• Assist EPC teams during construction, installation and commissioning, reviewing drawings and ensuring QA/QC standards.
• Oversee life‑cycle asset management for turbines, boilers, switchgear, pumps, valves and other critical equipment.
• Implement predictive‑maintenance techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography and oil testing.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis, reliability modeling and statistical process control to reduce downtime.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Control & Instrumentation or Electromechanical Engineering (Master’s a plus).
• Minimum 10 years experience in oil & gas power‑generation reliability, with hands‑on work on gas or steam turbines.
• Strong background in DCS/PLC logic, turbine control systems (e.g., MARK VIe, Ovation) and instrumentation calibration.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as Process Safety Management, OSHA, EPA and related local requirements.

Required skills

• CMMS (e.g., Maximo) for maintenance planning.
• Vibration analysis (Bently Nevada), thermography, oil/lubricant testing and motor‑current analysis.
• PI System data analysis for MTBF, MTTR and availability tracking.
• DCS, PLC, SCADA and HMI configuration and programming.
• Reliability modeling, root‑cause failure analysis (RCFA) and FRACAS.
• Predictive and preventive maintenance methodologies.
