Senior Business Development Associate (Client Relationships)

About the role

The Senior Business Development Associate (Client Relationships) supports the Business Development Manager in executing GECS’s Côte d’Ivoire growth agenda. The role is the primary point of contact for existing offtakers and clients, handling routine commercial matters, contract compliance, invoicing and payment performance while escalating significant issues.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day relationships with offtakers, industrial/mining customers and other key counterparties under existing PPAs, concession and gas contracts.
• Monitor contractual obligations, renewal dates, invoicing and payment performance, and coordinate collection actions.
• Support the BDM in market mapping, commercial analysis, preparation of term sheets, proposals and negotiation materials for new agreements.
• Coordinate with Project Development, Engineering, Finance, Legal and Operations to resolve routine matters and ensure timely execution.
• Prepare periodic updates on accounts, contracts and opportunities, highlighting risks, actions and deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Law or related field (or BTS with extensive experience).
• 4‑6 years of experience in account management, contract administration or business development, preferably in power, energy or gas mid‑stream sectors.
• Fluency in French and English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Experience using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT or Copilote for data analysis and document preparation.
