Senior Communications Associate – LIFT Program

About the role

The Senior Communications Associate will lead integrated communications and outreach for the Leveraging Finance and Investments for a Green Transition (LIFT) programme in Africa. Based in Abidjan, the role supports donor visibility, ensures compliance with Sida and GGGI standards, and positions GGGI as a key partner in climate finance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the LIFT Communications and Visibility Plan, aligning with Sida requirements and GGGI corporate standards.
• Produce high‑quality communication products such as success stories, case studies, newsletters, brochures, presentations and multimedia content.
• Translate complex technical work on climate finance and green finance into accessible messages for diverse audiences.
• Coordinate inputs from participating countries to ensure consistent branding, timely dissemination and quality assurance of all outputs.
• Support knowledge management by documenting lessons learned, best practices and innovative approaches across the programme.
• Assist in organising regional workshops, peer‑learning events and high‑level stakeholder engagements, including agenda preparation and post‑event reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations, Development Studies or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in communications, knowledge management or public affairs, preferably within international development or donor‑funded programmes.
• Proven ability to develop and execute communication strategies and visibility plans for multi‑country or regional initiatives.
• Experience translating technical and policy‑oriented content into clear, engaging communication products for a wide range of audiences.
