Senior Maintenance Planner - Operational Readiness

About the role

The Senior Maintenance Planner - Operational Readiness is the first dedicated Processing Maintenance position for Assafou. It initially reports directly to the Processing Manager, then moves to the Fixed Plant Maintenance Superintendent. The role works with the Project team, Group Operational Support and Engineering, EPCM, Supply Chain, OEMs and commissioning specialists, building the maintenance planning and asset-management foundations needed from detailed design through commissioning, start-up and ramp-up.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the processing maintenance readiness schedule aligned with project milestones, commissioning, first ore and ramp-up, and coordinate deliverables with the Processing Manager and Project and Group functions.
• Apply Group Standards, maintenance governance and operational-readiness processes, and track risks, gaps and actions affecting commissioning and early operations.
• Develop predictive models, turn operational data into business insights, and build reusable analytics products and decision-support tools.
• Build and maintain the plant asset hierarchy, equipment register, functional locations and master data, and prepare BOMs and preventive and condition-based maintenance routines, task lists, lubrication plans and job plans.
• Support the setup of the maintenance management system and prepare planning, scheduling and backlog-management templates for the future maintenance team.
• Review EPCM and OEM spare-parts lists, identify critical and long-lead spares, and support procurement; explore spare-parts commonality with other Endeavour operations.
• Take part in design reviews from a maintainability perspective, compile vendor manuals, drawings, warranties and commissioning records, and support commissioning, handover and start-up.
• Provide a structured handover of planning actions, master data, job plans and spare-parts information to the permanent maintenance organization.
• Ensure job plans include safety requirements, permits, isolations and statutory inspections, and keep accurate planning and handover records.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent qualifications and substantial maintenance experience.
• At least 10 years of progressive maintenance planning experience in mining or mineral processing, preferably in gold processing plants.
• Demonstrated operational-readiness experience on a greenfield or major brownfield plant, including commissioning, start-up and ramp-up.
• Experience with EPCM contractors, Project teams, Group Engineering, Supply Chain, OEMs and commissioning teams; West Africa experience highly preferred.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with CMMS, asset hierarchies, master data, BOMs, preventive maintenance routines, task lists and job plans.
• Working knowledge of asset-management systems and ISO 55000; practical knowledge of equipment criticality, maintenance strategy, PM optimization, condition monitoring and asset integrity.
• Experience reviewing spare parts and initial inventory requirements, and with shutdown planning, work management and performance indicators.
• French or English is advantageous.
