Senior Manager, Agronomy

About the role

The Senior Manager, Agronomy leads the agronomic delivery system for a large‑scale cocoa resilience program in Côte d'Ivoire. Reporting to the Director of Scalable Impact Platforms, you will build and manage a technical workforce, operational systems, and implementation processes to provide high‑quality agronomic services to smallholder farmers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for program‑specific agronomic methodologies, ensuring technical integrity and scalability.
• Lead implementation planning, stakeholder analysis, and change management for complex interventions such as pruning and farmer training.
• Oversee a field force of 100+ coaches and agricultural service agents, handling recruitment, training, and performance monitoring.
• Manage field teams, establish quality standards, and produce reports for internal leadership, donors, and partners.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams, consultants, and partners to align delivery with methodology design and impact goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, Environmental Science or related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in project management, agricultural development, or cocoa agronomy, preferably in West Africa.
• Proven experience managing large‑scale field programs and multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluency in French and English.
• Willingness to travel regularly within cocoa‑growing regions and occasional international trips.
