Site Electrical Engineer - Solar PV & BESS Projects

About the role

InnoGreen Energy develops and builds solar PV and PV + storage projects in Côte d'Ivoire. It is looking for a Site Electrical Engineer to supervise the electrical works on its construction sites, ensuring installations are built correctly according to the design, applicable standards and good engineering practice, while keeping the Project Manager regularly informed. The position is full-time, based in Marcory Zone 4, Abidjan, with regular work on project sites across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily electrical works by subcontractors: PV field, DC/AC cabling, low voltage, transformer stations, inverters, battery storage systems, earthing and supervision/communication.
• Check that works comply with drawings, technical specifications, IEC and Ivorian standards and close non-conformities.
• Inspect equipment and materials delivered to site, verify executed quantities and support validation of subcontractor progress claims.
• Prepare and follow up punch lists, and write daily and weekly progress reports.
• Raise technical questions and site deviations, record site modifications for as-built drawings, and support testing, commissioning and handover.
• Enforce electrical safety rules such as lock-out/tag-out, in coordination with the HSE officer, and coordinate with the civil engineer and HSE officer.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (Bac+4/5) in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnics, Renewable Energy or a related field.
• 2 to 3 years supervising electrical works on construction sites, ideally on solar PV or battery storage projects or in an EPC environment; motivated juniors with first site experience are welcome.
• Good knowledge of low and medium voltage installations, PV arrays, inverters, transformer stations and earthing systems.
• Ability to read single line diagrams, layouts and execution drawings.
• Knowledge of IEC and Ivorian standards, awareness of electrical safety and HSE requirements.
• French and strong written and spoken English; driving licence is an asset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Word, Excel and AutoCAD; PVsyst is an advantage.
• Good command of French and English.
