Adolescent & HIV/AIDS Specialist – Fixed Term (Abidjan)

About the role

The Adolescent & HIV/AIDS Specialist will support UNICEF’s efforts to promote the rights and development of adolescents in Côte d’Ivoire. Reporting to the Chief Youth and Adolescents Development (P4), the role provides technical, administrative and operational assistance to integrate adolescent development, participation and child‑rights standards into UNICEF’s advocacy, programmes and humanitarian actions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and support to country‑office teams, partners and stakeholders on adolescent development and HIV/AIDS programming.
• Ensure that child‑rights frameworks and international treaties are reflected in UNICEF policies, programmes and humanitarian interventions.
• Assist in the design, implementation and monitoring of results‑based adolescent health projects.
• Facilitate coordination among internal units and external partners to achieve sustainable outcomes.
• Contribute to reporting, documentation and knowledge‑sharing on adolescent and HIV/AIDS initiatives.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in adolescent development, HIV/AIDS programmes, and child‑rights advocacy.
• Familiarity with UNICEF policies, international conventions and UN inter‑governmental frameworks.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse partners in a multicultural environment.
