Africa Natural Capital Accounting Community Coordinator

About the role

The Africa Natural Capital Accounting Community Coordinator will lead the implementation of a continent‑wide community of practice on Natural Capital Accounting (NCA). Reporting to the Chief Natural Resources Officer, the role bridges the Secretariat, steering committee, government focal points, partner institutions and technical working groups to advance the 2026‑2030 strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day execution of the community’s strategy, roadmap and approved workplans.
• Serve as the primary contact point, managing communication among all stakeholders.
• Prepare agendas, minutes and track actions for steering‑committee and Secretariat meetings.
• Organise and facilitate quarterly webinars, trainings, peer‑learning sessions and policy forums.
• Support member countries and partners in launching joint activities, expanding membership and enhancing participation.
• Monitor and evaluate programme indicators, produce newsletters, outreach materials and progress updates.
• Draft analytical reports, policy briefs, discussion papers and provide technical inputs to natural‑capital projects.

Required profile

• Relevant master’s degree in natural‑resource economics, management, or related field.
• Minimum six years of experience in natural‑resource economics, management, or Natural Capital Accounting.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English and/or French, with working knowledge of the other language.
