AML Transaction Monitoring Analyst

About the role

Wave is building a cashless Africa and needs an AML Transaction Monitoring Analyst to join its Financial Security Team in Abidjan. You will investigate alerts generated by the AML monitoring system, help reduce false positives, and support the detection and reporting of suspicious activity.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct investigations on alerts from the AML Transaction Monitoring system.
• Enhance alert rules to lower false‑positive rates and prioritize high‑risk cases.
• Assist the Financial Security Manager in reviewing analyst reports and generating security dashboards.
• Identify weaknesses in the monitoring system and propose improvements.
• Prepare and file suspicious transaction reports.
• Support implementation of regulator‑issued embargo restrictions.
• Gather and relay information to law‑enforcement and financial intelligence authorities.

Required profile

• Familiarity with money‑laundering trends and AML investigative processes.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with compliance and security teams.
• Legal work authorization for Côte d'Ivoire.
