Associate Banker – Investment Projects

About the role

The Associate Banker will join the Regional Operations team in Abidjan, supporting investment projects in Côte d'Ivoire. Working under the guidance of an operation leader, you will be involved in all stages of the project cycle, from origination to monitoring, ensuring compliance with EBRD policies and delivering value for the bank and its clients.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with client counterparts, consultants and internal teams to structure and execute investment transactions.
• Lead the preparation of due‑diligence materials, including financial analysis, market assessments and integrity checks.
• Draft internal project documentation such as memoranda, financial models, term sheets and presentations.
• Design and process technical cooperation assistance, aligning timelines with investment approvals.
• Monitor project implementation, track financial performance, assess risks and ensure covenant compliance.
• Produce regular monitoring reports with recommendations for corrective actions.

Required profile

• University degree in finance, economics, business or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Willingness to learn and develop expertise in project finance and banking operations.

Required skills

• Financial modelling and analysis.
• Preparation of project documentation (memoranda, term sheets, presentations).
• Understanding of project due‑diligence processes and compliance requirements.
