Associate Director, Hub Accounting

About the role

The Associate Director, Hub Accounting leads accounting operations across a regional hub, ensuring GAAP‑compliant financial reporting, efficient month‑end close, and audit readiness. The role partners with country offices, corporate accounting, and external auditors to deliver accurate financial data and support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership to hub accounting staff, coordinate with country teams, and oversee the monthly close process.
• Serve as the primary hub contact for audit requests, ensuring timely provision of documentation and compliance with internal and external standards.
• Design and improve accounting procedures, conduct trainings on systems such as GFAS, DPA, Costpoint, and TM1 budgeting.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate accounting personnel, fostering a high‑performing, diverse team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent with at least 8 years of relevant experience, including 3 years of line‑management.
• Proven experience managing a financial accounting department in an NGO or international organization.
• Fluent English (read/write/speak) and professional accounting certification (CPA, ACCA or equivalent) preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, CAS, FAR and related government accounting practices.
• Experience with automated financial reporting tools and systems such as GFAS, DPA, Costpoint, and TM1.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, and collaboration platforms (Skype, Zoom, Teams).
