AU Liaison Officer – Programme Policy & Partnerships

About the role

The African Risk Capacity (ARC) is seeking an AU Liaison Officer to support programme policy and partnerships. Based in Abidjan, the officer will act as the main point of contact between ARC and the African Union, ensuring alignment of policies and fostering strategic collaborations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and strengthen partnerships between ARC and AU member states and institutions.
• Provide technical advice on policy development, programme design and implementation.
• Support capacity‑building initiatives for early warning, contingency planning and disaster response.
• Monitor and report on the progress of joint programmes and ensure compliance with AU guidelines.
• Represent ARC in AU meetings, workshops and stakeholder forums.

Required profile

• University degree in public policy, international relations, development studies or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in policy analysis, partnership management or humanitarian programmes.
• Demonstrated knowledge of African Union structures and disaster risk financing.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
