Business Development Manager – Côte d’Ivoire

About the role

Wave is building the first cashless continent in Africa and is looking for a seasoned Business Development Manager to drive growth in Côte d’Ivoire. Reporting to the WAEMU Head of Business Development, you will lead partnership creation, negotiation and management to expand Wave’s payment ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, negotiate and secure strategic partnerships with banks, telecom operators, bill‑payment providers and international remittance firms.
• Build and nurture relationships that enable Wave to operate and scale effectively across Côte d’Ivoire.
• Source new business opportunities for Wave’s payment products and align them with product and operational needs.
• Coordinate communication between partners and internal teams (Product, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Marketing).
• Monitor partnership performance and ensure contractual obligations are met.

Required profile

• Proven track record in business development within fintech, payments or related financial services.
• Strong network in the Ivorian banking, telecom and payments sectors.
• Excellent negotiation, relationship‑building and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Ability to work independently from the Abidjan office and travel to field locations as needed.
• Legal right to work in Côte d’Ivoire.
