Chief Accountant / Auditor

About the role

The Chief Accountant/Auditor will oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions for our clients in Abidjan, ensuring compliance with best standards and organizational policies. The role includes setting client expectations, managing the accounting team, implementing changes, scheduling visits, training staff, and preparing financial statements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.
• Conduct internal audits to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports and forecasts.
• Manage the accounting team and coordinate audits with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or CFA are highly preferred.
• 7–10 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or auditing, covering trading companies, construction project accounting, production, asset management, internal controls, exchange rates, and final reporting.
• Proven senior‑level experience in accounting or auditing and proficiency with financial software systems.
• Fluency in both English and French.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS).
