Chief of Party

About the role

The Chief of Party will provide overall leadership for a three‑year industry‑led initiative to strengthen the resilience of the cocoa supply chain in Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana. Reporting to Rainforest Alliance senior staff, the role oversees program coordination, field implementation, risk management and reporting across a large multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall technical direction and strategic oversight of the program.
• Serve as primary liaison with regional and local partners, government and key stakeholders.
• Ensure full delivery of technical, financial, compliance and resource‑mobilisation obligations.
• Manage daily program operations, coordinate work plans, recruit staff and consultants, and supervise implementation.
• Lead a team of over 20 country staff and coordinate more than 100 coaches and enumerators.

Required profile

• Master's degree in agriculture, environmental sciences, natural resource management, business administration, economics or a related international development field.
• Minimum 10 years experience managing internationally funded agricultural or sustainable development projects, including leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven experience coordinating with private sector, government agencies and NGOs, and working on market‑systems or value‑chain projects.
• At least 3 years experience collaborating with Côte d’Ivoire ministries or national institutions on natural resource or economic development matters.
• Fluency in English and French and ability to travel ≥30 % of the time.
