Directeur Commercial Local – Abidjan

About the role

The Local Commercial Director reports directly to the General Management and is responsible for driving the company’s commercial policy and profitability across the entire territory. This senior position leads the growth engine of a construction materials business operating in Côte d'Ivoire.

Key responsibilities

• Define, steer and implement the overall commercial strategy in line with group growth objectives.
• Identify new growth levers, actively prospect new market segments and diversify distribution channels.
• Build, motivate and develop a high‑performing sales team (managers, supervisors and field sales representatives) fostering a strong results‑oriented culture.
• Lead complex strategic negotiations and maintain high‑level relationships with key accounts, major distributors and strategic partners.
• Set up, analyse and optimise performance indicators (KPIs) and provide reliable analytical reporting to senior management.
• Conduct active competitive intelligence to anticipate market trends, pricing dynamics and competitor actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (minimum Bac+2) in Commerce, Management, Sales or a related field.
• At least 6 years of professional experience in commercial roles, including a minimum of 3 years in sales supervision, sales direction or team management.
• Deep knowledge of the construction materials sector and a thorough understanding of local distribution networks.
• Charismatic leadership with a proven ability to unite, motivate and elevate teams toward ambitious targets.
