Director of Operations – EV Ride‑hailing Platform

About the role

GSM (Green SM) is launching Africa’s first all‑electric ride‑hailing fleet in Côte d’Ivoire. As Director of Operations you will build and lead the operational engine that keeps the depot, fleet and drivers running smoothly, ensuring reliable service from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Stand up and manage depot, charging and service workshop operations.
• Oversee the full vehicle lifecycle: intake, preparation, handover to drivers, and market deployment.
• Maintain high vehicle uptime through proactive maintenance and repair scheduling.
• Lead driver onboarding, support, and community building to keep drivers active and engaged.
• Drive core performance metrics such as utilisation, downtime, driver attrition, completion rate and revenue per vehicle.
• Develop and enforce standard operating procedures, audits and safety controls, ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and leading operations teams in fleet, depot or transport environments.
• Hands‑on builder mindset with a track record of launching new operational sites.
• Strong analytical ability to identify bottlenecks and improve processes.
• Excellent stakeholder management, working with local teams and global partners.
