Equipment Lead - Container Flows

About the role

Maersk is looking for an Equipment Lead to manage and optimise container flows so that the right equipment is available at the right place and at the right time, at the best cost. The role drives equipment availability, inventory management, cost efficiency and operational performance while supporting customer demand and business objectives across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Build the equipment flow strategy based on import and export flow analysis of the region to meet customer needs in depots.
• Drive end-to-end cost-saving initiatives, including transport and storage costs.
• Manage the supply and evacuation of equipment across transport modes, on time and accurately.
• Keep stock levels aligned with regional targets set by Headquarters and deliver inventory control at inland locations and ports against approved export bookings.
• Own and drive equipment-related projects in the region and reduce long-standing equipment dwell times.
• Work with EMR to manage vendor performance and ensure customers receive quality units.
• Manage relevant systems to ensure data quality and coordinate with the CEN EQU team on equipment projects and tool enhancements.
• Deliver a high customer experience by balancing equipment availability with cost.

Required profile

• Experience in container operations, depot operations, equipment management, logistics, transportation, shipping or supply chain.
• Understanding of container equipment and depot activities, or the ability to learn technical container repair processes.
• Strong vendor, supplier and stakeholder management experience.
• Commercial and cost-conscious mindset, able to challenge repair costs and drive efficiency.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to spot continuous improvement opportunities.
• Communication and influencing skills, working across functions and stakeholders; able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with operational systems, reporting tools and performance metrics.
• Customer-focused mindset; experience in container maintenance, repair, depot operations or equipment management is advantageous.
