FX & Payments Lead

About the role

As the FX & Payments Lead at Daba, you will own the end‑to‑end foreign exchange operations, payment service provider relationships and cross‑border remittance corridors, ensuring investors can fund, trade and withdraw seamlessly across currencies and markets.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily OTC FX trades across African and international currencies and manage the FX exposure and hedging strategy.
• Negotiate spot and forward rates with banks and FX desks, maintain trading logs and P&L tracking.
• Develop and maintain internal FX pricing models and risk‑management strategies.
• Manage relationships with payment service providers, evaluate and onboard new partners, monitor performance and negotiate fee structures.
• Oversee PSP integrations with engineering, ensure compliance and maintain contingency plans.
• Build and manage remittance and correspondent‑bank relationships to support cross‑border corridors.
• Reconcile daily PSP settlements and monitor nostro/vostro account balances across multiple jurisdictions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in foreign exchange operations, payment services or treasury functions.
• Strong negotiation skills with banks, PSPs and FX counterparties.
• Ability to manage risk, liquidity and compliance in a multi‑currency environment.
• Excellent analytical mindset and attention to detail.
