HSE Leader for Bean Operations

About the role

The Safety, Health, Environment and Security Manager provides leadership and governance for SHE across Barry Callebaut's bean operations and logistics sites in Ivory Coast. The role drives a proactive safety culture, ensures regulatory compliance, and oversees security for employees, contractors and assets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and continuous improvement of local SHE management systems, aligning with legal, Barry Callebaut and international standards.
• Own the SHE pillar in the BC Operating System, driving performance through daily, weekly and monthly management cycles.
• Lead incident management, risk assessments, audits, inspections and verification activities.
• Oversee security governance, establish priorities, and advise site leadership on security risks.
• Engage with external stakeholders such as regulators, communities and NGOs on SHE topics.

Required profile

• Master's degree in science or engineering or equivalent industrial experience.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in a factory-based safety, health, environment or related role.
• Proven ability to lead cultural change and influence senior leaders.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into action.
• High integrity, discretion and ethical judgement.

Required skills

• Certifications in safety management as required by local authorities.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 or OHSAS 18001 standards.
• Project management skills.
• Experience with Lean/TPM tools.
• Internal auditor or ISO auditor qualification (preferred).
